The Gloucester County Clean Community Committee is asking for volunteers to help clean up Maryus Landing.

The Gloucester County Clean Community Committee will be having a cleanup day at Maryus Landing on Saturday, Feb. 22. starting at 1 p.m.  Maryus Landing is located deep in Guinea, and has fallen into rough shape. The small public landing is full of trash ranging from old tires to broken chairs.

The Clean Community Committee hopes to clean up the area in preparation for installing a mural, designed by local artist Lori Green of Magical Wish Photography. The mural, which is being paid for via a grant, has the endorsement of the Guinea Heritage Association.

The committee is asking for volunteers who are prepared to do some heavy lifting. They expect that there will be chunks of concrete and other large debris that will need to be removed. The committee will provide gloves, bags, safety vests and grabbers for trash collecting. Volunteers are encouraged to bring shovels, or other tools that could be useful. Boots or closed toed shoes are highly recommended.
