According to the Gloucester Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence in the 1600 block of Abingdon Lane regarding a reported homicide just before 2 a.m. Tuesday. Abingdon Lane is off Little England Road in the Bena area.

Upon arrival at the residence, deputies found the homeowner, 72-year-old Marsha Joan Pohorence, dead inside her bedroom. The GSO said its investigation revealed that the victim’s daughter, 29-year-old Christa Joanne Pohorence, had allegedly stabbed her mother to death.
