The Guinea Heritage Association will soon welcome a musical duo for a concert to benefit the continued efforts to restore and revitalize Buck Rowe’s Store, now a museum on Guinea heritage. Lana Puckett and Kim Person will perform at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 16. at Buck Rowe’s Store in Bena.

The duo performs covers and original music across a variety of genres, including country, acoustic folk and Americana. Their performances rely heavily on vocal harmony, acoustic, electric and steel guitar.

A Columbia Records artist search at the International American Song Festival netted the pair first place in the category of country vocalist. Their other accolades include winning first place in the East Coast Country Music Championship, first place in traditional female vocalist by Virginia Country Music News, and wrote the song “Cornstalk Pony,” which was featured by label artist Steve Gillette on his “Texas to Tennessee” album release by the Compass/Rose label.
