Moen takes Best in Show Saturday at Classics on Main

Jeff Moen took home the Best in Show trophy from Saturday’s Classics on Main Car and Truck Show, for his 1961 Chevrolet Impala.

The Middle Peninsula Classic Cruisers held the show in and around Gloucester Court Circle, with a total of 120 cars and trucks competing.

“This was the second year for this show and attendance increased dramatically from last year and we think it will do the same next year,” said MPCC secretary Grace Small.

Proceeds from the show benefit Gloucester County Project Lifesaver.

Other winners from Saturday’s show were:

Chrysler—First place, John Foster (1969 Plymouth Barracuda), second place, Fred Davis (1957 Dodge Coronet) and, third place, Loren Schriner (1968 Dodge Coronet RT).

Ford—First place, Ron Hugate (1969 Mustang), second place, Steve and Virginia Proffitt (1960 Ford Starliner) and, third place, Donnie Green (1968 Shelby GT 500 KR).

GM—First place, Mike Pelata (1969 Chevy Camaro SS), second place, Forrest McGee (1955 Chevy Bel Air) and, third place, Tony Shell (1965 Pontiac GTO).

Import—First place, Dean Mitchell (1975 Citroen 2CV), second place, John Kopp (1978 Steyr Pinzgauer), and, third place, Donnie White (1960 Facel Vega HK 500).

Truck—First place, Bill Hunt (1957 Chevy pickup), second place, Robbie Stokes (1985 Chevy El Camino) and, third place, Roger Hogge (1949 Ford pickup).

Other—First place, Lewis Walton (1979 Chevy Food Lion Dumpster), second place, Ed Fisher (1951 Nash Ambassador) and, third place, Frederick Eley (1942 Ford WWII military jeep).

The next Classic Cruisers’ car show will be held at the Guinea Jubilee on Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Guinea Jubilee show grounds in Bena.
