Planners

The Gloucester Planning Commission will meet at 7 o’clock tonight in the Colonial Courthouse.

First Friday

November 02 2018, 6:00 PM

Arts on Main will host its “First Friday” event for November from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the gallery on Main Street in Gloucester. The event will feature fall scenes and seasonal colors across several media by Jason Abbott, Carolyn Thompson Dudley, Melanie Hartman, George Jennings, Harriet McGee, Rose Nygaard and Mary Montague Sikes. In addition, local duo Crimson Foxx will provide entertainment.

Farm Festival

November 03 2018, 10:00 AM

The annual herb farm festival, “Autumn’s Song,” will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at C.A. & J. Farms on East River Road at Foster.

Breakfast

November 04 2018, 8:00 AM

American Legion, Mathews Post 83, will have its monthly World Famous Breakfast from 8–11 a.m. Sunday at the post home on Hookemfair Road at Hudgins.

Main Street

November 05 2018, 5:30 PM

The Mathews Main Street Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Mathews Memorial Library.

County Board

November 05 2018, 7:00 PM

The Mathews County Board of Supervisors will have an informational work session for FEMA Community Outreach at 7 p.m. Monday in the historic courthouse.

NAACP

November 05 2018, 7:00 PM

The Gloucester branch of the NAACP will meet Monday at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Ordinary. The public is invited to attend. 

King’s Daughters

November 06 2018, 10:00 AM

The North River Circle of The King’s Daughters and Sons will meet at the home of Layne Brown in Lands End at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Connie Fulton and Joanie Haury will co-host.

Homemakers

November 07 2018, 9:30 AM

The Central Village Homemakers will meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, in the fellowship hall of Central United Methodist Church, Mathews. Members are reminded to bring their items for the Christmas Store.

Supervisors

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, in the Colonial Courthouse to gather public comment on the potential creation of a Regional Industrial Facility Authority.

County Board

November 07 2018, 7:00 PM

The Mathews County Board of Supervisors will have an information work session for Public Safety Radio at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, in the historic courthouse.

Quilters

November 08 2018, 9:30 AM

The Bay Quilters will meet from 9:30 a.m. to noon Thursday, Nov. 8, at Central United Methodist Church in Mathews. Anyone interested in quilts or quilting is invited to attend.

Republicans

November 08 2018, 7:15 PM

The Gloucester County Republican Committee will meet at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, 6470 Main Street, Gloucester. Doors open at 6:30. New members are welcome to attend.
