Bradbury is Bay School’s Artist of Month

The Bay School Community Arts Center in Mathews is now featuring an Artist of the Month. November’s artist is Susan Miller Bradbury. She is a Virginia native and currently resides in Roanoke.
Bradbury graduated from Radford University with a BA in Graphic Arts, as well as a minor in French. She discovered her love for portraiture later in life and went on to take classes from well-known artists such as Daniel Greene, Paul McCormack, Vera Dickerson, Lee Boynton and Debbie Gualco, a release stated.
Her use of color to capture the light and expression in her subjects makes appreciating her work an enjoyable experience, the release said. Bradbury’s subject matter is diverse, from rolling landscapes and soft sunsets to seascapes, pasture life and portraits of man’s best friend.
Over the years, Bradbury has won numerous awards for her artwork including an Award of Merit from the Bay School’s Art Speaks Juried Exhibition.
The current show in the Art Speaks gallery is Fall into Art, which continues through Dec. 2. The Bay School’s Holiday Artisan Market will be held Nov. 29-Dec. 1.
The Bay School is a nonprofit community art school and art gallery. It offers monthly shows, classes for all ages and skill levels, both regional and local art and community outreach programs.
Located at 279 Main Street, the Bay School is supported in part by the Virginia Commission for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, Dominion Energy, Mathews County, Chesapeake Bank, and a dozen community Gallery Sponsors.
