Kendall Bunting of Gloucester, and Dustin Taylor of Mathews, recently received $1,000 scholarships from the Gloucester-Mathews County Farm Bureau.
The organization awards scholarships annually to one student in each of the counties it serves.
Applicants are selected based on scholastic achievement, anticipated field of study, agriculture and community involvement, participation in Farm Bureau, recommendations and financial need.
Bunting is a graduate of New Kent High School and the daughter of David and Pam Bunting of Gloucester. She will attend Virginia Wesleyan College in the fall, to study mass communications.
Taylor is a graduate of Mathews High School and the son of Ronald Taylor and Ann Haywood of Mathews. He also is the grandson of Henry Burroughs and Ruth Ann Hutson of Mathews.
He will attend George Mason University in the fall, majoring in computer science and game design.
