It’s been three up and three down for the Gloucester High School varsity field hockey team that looks to post another undefeated Peninsula District regular season.

"All three have been shutouts, so that’s been good," said Gloucester coach Mike Miller. "We have to just continue to play well and stay focused."

The Gloucester girls opened the season with a 5-0 win over Bethel at Christopher Newport University on Sept. 6. "We played extremely well and the defense did a super job," Miller said of the win. The Dukes did not allow a shot on goal while firing 27 scoring attempts at the Bruins’ net.

Freshman Cassidy Goodwin led the Dukes’ offense with three goals while Tori Harwood and Courtnie Greene had one each. Kayla Sadler contributed two assists and assists were credited to Hannah Wilburn, Katelyn Curtis and Bri Greene.
