Fishing remains average in local waters

Fishing remains pretty average for this time of year in local waters.

Medium croaker and small spot are in abundant the creeks from docks and along river banks on bloodworms and squid, according to Jerry Thrash of Queens Creek Outfitters, Cobbs Creek.Flounder anglers, he said, are still waiting for the spring run to arrive.

Thrash said small stripers can be had chumming or casting around structure.

He reported one citation registered at the store over the past week, a 5-lb., 3-oz. speckled trout caught by Eugene Morgan of Gloucester, in the Severn River.
