The Gloucester Youth Baseball 13-15 year-olds All Stars team won the District I Babe Ruth Baseball Tournament played July 8-12 at Dorey Park in Henrico. The win advanced Gloucester to the State Tournament to be played July 22-26 at Firemans Field in Purcellville.

Team manager Brian Clements said the Gloucester team went undefeated in the district event, winning games with team defense and timely hitting. Michael Clements, Tyler Wood, Kolten Robins and Justin Edington led the team in pitching.

Gloucester won the district championship game in dramatic fashion, coming from behind several times. The winning run came in the bottom of the seventh inning when Darian Beale singled in Jake Giles from second base to beat Williamsburg, 9-8.
