The Middle Peninsula Classic Cruisers car club will host its "Blast from the Past" car show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Main Street Center. Registration is from 9 a.m. to noon and awards will be presented at 3 p.m. The show is open to all years, makes and models. Registration is $15 in advance or $20 on show day. There is no charge for spectators.
The show is the club’s major fundraising event in its campaign to give back to local charities. The 2009 show raised about $2,800 that was distributed among 10 organizations. For more information or registration visit www.mpcc-va.org or call Jay Laros at 815-1362.
In May, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed a resolution designating July 9 as Collector Car Appreciation Day. The bill also recognizes that the collection and restoration of historic and classic cars is an important part of preserving the technological achievements and cultural heritage of the United States.
