GHS women’s double wins at MHS regatta

{image_1} Gloucester High School rowers had mixed results in the annual regatta held at Williams Wharf in Mathews on Saturday. The regatta drew 19 rowing teams to the East River.

Maddie Lee and Bailey Hamilton won the women’s double for Gloucester and combined with Emma Malise, Emily Poole and coxswain Amber Stieber to take second place in the varsity four. Casey Martin, Mackenzie Marbain, Maddy Hogge, Kassidy Brown and coxswain Emily Freudenberg were third in the lightweight four. 

The GHS junior varsity women’s four came in fifth, the women’s quad and varsity four were sixth in their races and the women’s varsity eight was sixth.

Taylor Dough, Russell Simpson, Zack Moore, Aaron Parr and coxswain Stieber won the men’s varsity four event. Chase Holland was second in the varsity single and Simpson was third. They combined with Moore, Parr and coxswain Stieber for second place in the junior varsity four.
