The Middle Peninsula Classic Cruisers car club will host its annual Blast from the Past show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Main Street Center parking lot. The show is open to all years of cars and truck and will have awards for classic and late model classes. There is no charge for spectators.
The Blast from the Past show is the club’s major fundraising event, according to MPCC president Jay Laros. He said the club distributed over $4,000 to a dozen charities last year through proceeds from registration fees.
Recipients of the contributions included local fire departments, Relay for Life, Gloucester Parks and Recreation, Gloucester Main Street Association, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Gloucester and Mathews, Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, Laurel Shelter, Shop with a Cop, Friends of the Library, and the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters.
Show registration forms are available on the club’s website. For more information, e-mail MiddlePeninsulaClassicCruisers@cox.net. The show’s rain date is July 20.
The Classic Cruisers club will hold its regular weekly cruise-in from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, also at the Main Street Center parking lot.
