{image_2} The Deltaville Deltas completed a season sweep of the York Cannons this past weekend, posting an 8-5 victory on Saturday, and a 13-5 win on Sunday. With the wins, the Deltas maintained their second-place standing, improving to 9-2 on the season.

This Saturday is Heritage Day in Deltaville, and is filled with action at Deltaville Ballpark. At 5 p.m., the Deltas will face off against league rival Peninsula Pirates (9-3). Following the Deltas game, the Worth Batting Tour will put on a slow-pitch softball hitting show, hitting softballs farther than 400 feet, and as high as the stadium lights. Finally, the Deltaville Deltas Old Timers will face their counterparts from long-time rival Tappahannock Tides.

On Sunday, the Deltas travel to Williamsburg to face the Pirates in a 4 p.m. game at Jamestown High School.

Deltas 8, Cannons 5

Colby Wiggins started a game-winning eighth-inning rally with a leadoff triple, and Jay Moore pitched four solid innings of relief to lead the Deltas to an 8-5 victory on Saturday night in Deltaville.

The Cannons and Deltas traded runs in the early going, playing to a 4-4 tie after the 3rd inning. Deltaville took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the sixth, but the Cannons tied the game in the top of the eighth.
