The tentative 2013 schedule for Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway near Saluda was released last week. It will include 12 weeks of Virginia Army National Guard Dirt Series action. A track release said the focus for the 2013 racing season will be on weekly racing and continuing to increase the local fan and competitor base.

During the 12 weeks of Virginia Army National Guard Dirt Series action the speedway will feature six nights of the twin race format that was used and which became popular during the last part of the 2012 season.

Weekly divisions begin competition for the division championships and the Guard’s Dirt Series championship with races on April 13. The final points race will be run on Sept. 14.

Divisions will include the Victory Lap Late Models, Truckin’ Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modifieds and the Collision One Limited Stock Cars.

Tentatively set for May 18 is a return engagement for the Ultimate Super Late Model Series.
