Sixty take part in Mobjack/Williams Wharf Turkey Trot
Sixty people, including many rowing alumni back in town for the holiday weekend, showed up to the Mathews High School parking lot at 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning to walk, run, jog or bike the four-mile course to Williams Wharf Landing in the sixth annual Mobjack/Williams Wharf Turkey Trot.
Canned food items weighing approximately 147 lbs. were brought by participants to be donated to Hands Across Mathews. Arriving at Williams Wharf, participants immediately noticed something different—a vista devoid of the old dock building that for more than two decades housed the rowing program’s practices and equipment.
