Rain forces racing cancellation at Virginia Motor Speedway
Heavy rain and the forecast for more thunderstorms forced officials at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway to cancel Saturday’s NAPA of King William/Virginia Army National Guard Night activities.
"We are tremendously disappointed that Mother Nature has forced us to cancel with so few races left on the schedule," said track general manager Clarke Sawyer. "But with the current rain and the threat of more severe weather on the way we feel it is in everyone’s best interest to cancel tonight’s racing program."
The Middlesex County track will return to action this Saturday when it hosts Kleen/NAPA of King William/Virginia Army National Guard/Friends of NRA Night, featuring four divisions of dirt track action.
