Gloucester Post 75 went 2-2 in the American Legion Junior State Baseball Tournament to finish in fourth place among eight teams.

Post 75 lost its opener last Thursday, 6-3, to Martinsville Post 42 despite a good pitching effort by Jordan Harvey. Down 2-0 in the sixth inning, Gloucester loaded the bases and cut the deficit to 2-1 when Nick Tolefson was hit by a pitch to force Cody Brown in.

Brett Lindsay followed with a single to score Tristen Spears and tie the game at 2-2. Four unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth helped Post 42 retake control. Harvey also contributed a long home run in the seventh to make the final score 6-3.

Gloucester bounced back with a 6 -3 win over Fredericksburg Post 55 in 11 innings. Post 55 came out swinging in the first and took a quick 3-0 lead before Brian Owens settled down and pitched nine consecutive shutout innings.
