MHS volleyball tryouts set for Aug. 2

The Mathews High School varsity volleyball team will hold tryouts from 8 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 2, at the MHS gym. Junior varsity tryouts will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. the same day at the Lee-Jackson gym. The teams should be selected on Aug. 6. All girls must have completed physical forms in order to participate.
MHS coach Pat Moughon will conduct a beginner/intermediate camp from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Aug. 26-29 at MHS. The cost is $40.
Erin Skipper, a rising senior outside hitter at the College of William and Mary, will be leading an intermediate/advanced camp at MHS from 6 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 26-29 and from 9 a.m. to noon on Aug. 30. The cost is $50.
The camps are open to players from outside Mathews County. For more information, call Moughon at 815-8673.
