MHS track teams coming out of the blocks strong
The Mathews High School track and field teams are coming off a shaky inaugural indoor season, but are coming out of the blocks strong for the 2014 outdoor season.
With a record of three wins and one loss so far on the season, the girls team is looking good. At first glance, the boys’ record of 0-4 seems bleak but, considering the fact that the meets have nearly all come down to just a few points, it is shaping up to be a noteworthy season for them as well.
Last Thursday the Mathews team traveled to Charles City to face King and Queen and the host Panthers in a tri-meet. The girls took home the win and the boys came in second by a single point.
