GHS tennis opens season; PD champ Stringer leads Lady Dukes

The Gloucester High School girls’ tennis team, the 2009 Peninsula District champions, showed a lot of promise in facing Mathews to open the season on Tuesday at GHS. The Lady Dukes lost five of their top six players to graduation, with the only returnee being number-one seed Ellen Stringer. Stringer took the PD singles crown last year.
