In spite of losing by a score of 52-48 to Middlesex in the Tidewater District tournament last Thursday night, the Mathews High School boys’ basketball team still advanced to the first round of regional play against Essex. Results from Wednesday’s quarterfinal match with the Trojans were not available at press time.
