Bass fishing is good at Beaverdam
Fishing in the Beaverdam Reservoir has been excellent, according to park ranger Eddie Hester. He said largemouth bass of up to eight pounds have been caught throughout the lake on jigs at a depth of about 12 feet.
Hester said medium to large crappie have also been abundant and are being caught 12 feet down in the coves on the west side. Chain pickerel, ring perch and bluegill are also being hooked. The grass has increased in some areas, Hester said, but the fishing is very good in the areas surrounding the grassy spots. The surface water temperature is at 83 degrees.
