The Gloucester High School varsity Dukes are tied with Woodside.
For many of the rowers, this was their first racing day on the Class A Occoquan course.

The Mathews Girls’ Tennis Team battled hard but suffered a tough loss of 4-5 against Rappahannock last Thursday.
Late in the second, Menchville landed its first goal and five minutes later added another.
The teams fought hard to take home a 10th place finish for the girls, with 14.33 points, and a seventh place spot for the boys, with 44.5 points.
The Dukes will get a chance to break the tie tomorrow when they are scheduled for another meeting with Menchville in Newport News.
The team has been battling scheduling conflicts and the weather to get practices and games in.
Before ending the losing streak, Mathews lost to district foe King William and AA opponent and old Tidewater District rival New Kent.
The Mathews High School jayvee baseball team has been on a roll in the past few weeks.
