MHS boys, girls beat Trojans, Pointers in driving rain at Beaverdam

Despite heavy rains soaking up much of the course last Wednesday, the Mathews High School cross country runners took advantage of the conditions and used their knowledge of the Beaverdam trails to win in convincing fashion over the visiting Essex Trojans and West Point Pointers.

Sopko, Muffelman return to world rowing championships

Still undefeated, Gloucester High School varsity field hockey players improved to 10-0 overall and 4-0 in the Peninsula District with a pair of wins in recent action.

The Mathews High School girls’ cross country team had a successful week of competition, defeating Lancaster on the road and winning the Girls’ Bronze Division at the Maymont Cross Country Festival in Richmond.
