Gloucester High School indoor track athletes added to their list of Peninsula District Meet qualifiers and personal records during the second meet of the season on Jan. 10 at the Boo Williams Sports Complex in Hampton.
The Mathews High School wrestling team dropped a pair of dual matches, and also posted a win over Washington and Lee in recent action.

Four Gloucester High School track athletes had Peninsula District Meet qualifying performances at the Christopher Newport University Showcase meet last weekend. Fifty-five teams and 1,200 athletes participated in the event.
The Mathews High School varsity boys’ basketball team dropped its second game of the season to Lancaster on Saturday, as the visiting Red Devils posted a 71-51 victory.
The Mathews High School wrestling team had a busy week, taking part in a tri-meet on Wednesday, Jan. 5, at Northumberland with Lancaster and the host Indians, and traveling to Franklin on Saturday, winning four dual matches and the tournament championship.
The Mathews High School varsity girls’ basketball team picked up wins over Northern Neck foes Rappahannock and Lancaster, and falling to district rival West Point this week.
The Mathews High School jayvee girls’ basketball team opened a busy week on Friday, hosting the Rappahannock Raiders.
