David Coleman Tillage graduated cum laude with a bachelor of business administration degree in finance from James Madison University during commencement ceremonies May 4. Tillage did concentrated studies in financial analysis. He is the son of David and Holly Tillage of Hayes.

Melanie Hollis of Gloucester, was named to the spring semester dean’s list at New River Community College. The recognition requires a 3.2 or higher grade point average.

Candie Cowden of Ark, and Kimberly Haas of North, were recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at Old Dominion University. Phi Kappa Phi is a collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Gloucester High School sophomore Caitlin Cain attended the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) Seminar Friday through Sunday at James Madison University. During the seminar, Cain attended workshops and programs designed to inspire participants to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation.

Garrett Morgan-Wilson Fosdyck of Port Haywood, was named to the spring semester dean’s list at King University in Bristol, Tenn. The recognition requires a 3.5 or higher grade point average.

Jason A. Harris of Gloucester, graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of business administration degree from Averett University during commencement ceremonies April 27. Harris was a student in the university’s Graduate and Professional Studies Program.

Aaron Jones received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Radford University during commencement ceremonies May 11. Daniel Jones graduated magna cum laude and received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech during commencement ceremonies May 18. The Jones brothers are the sons of Michael Jones of Chesapeake and the late Becky Crittenden Jones, formerly of Mathews.

Carla Jones Ruffin of Hayes, received a master of business administration degree from Averett University during commencement ceremonies April 27. Ruffin was a student in the university’s Graduate and Professional Studies Program.

Tyler Graham Tillage graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in music from the University of Richmond during commencement ceremonies May 12. Tillage took concentrated studies in piano performance and a minor in Latin American and Iberian studies. He is the son of David and Holly Tillage of Hayes.

Tiffany Blaze Waersch of Hayes, graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of business administration degree from Averett University during commencement ceremonies April 27. Waersch was a student in the university’s Graduate and Professional Studies Program.
