Amanda L. Burak graduated from the Woodrow Wilson Center for Employment in Fishersville on Sept. 28 with a Career Readiness Certificate in business and information technology. A 2011 graduate of Gloucester High School, Burak is the daughter of Susan and Randy Burak of Gloucester.

Catherine Wahlman of Gloucester, will serve as Regimental Medical Officer for the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets this school year. Wahlman is a senior majoring in biology at Tech.

Travis Worrell of Gloucester, will serve as Charlie Company Commander for the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets this school year. Worrell is a senior majoring in natural resources at Tech.

Rappahannock Community College students Kimberly Colarik, Alexandra Kost, Amanda Lacombe, Renee Simms and Teresa Weaver of Gloucester; Andre Barnes, Victoria Carmine, Amanda Greene and Ernest Wright of Mathews, received recognition as "A" Club members during a celebratory luncheon Sept. 19 in Tappahannock. The "A" Club luncheons, sponsored by the college’s Student Support Services (SSS) office, are held at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. The honor singles out SSS participants who were enrolled in at least two classes during the preceding semester(s), and earned an A or an S (satisfactory) in each class.
