Gloucester school personnel are appointed

Nicholas DeMet of Gloucester, was named the coordinator for technology services for Gloucester Public Schools by the Gloucester School Board in personnel actions during its July 13 meeting.

Also, Sydney Downs of Newport News, was appointed as the school counselor at Abingdon Elementary and Rachael Morgan of Providence Forge, and Hannah Strange of Williamsburg, were appointed as teachers at Abingdon.

In addition, Julie Parker of Gloucester, was appointed as the nurse at Peasley Middle School, Natalie Brake was appointed as a teacher at Walker Elementary, and Jessica Botje of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., was appointed as a teacher at Bethel Elementary.

The board also accepted resignations from Gloucester High School science teacher Joel Bunn, Peasley interventionist Corey Crawford, and Petsworth Elementary teacher Tonia Varner. In addition, retirement was approved for Walker teacher Cathy L. Walters and Abingdon custodian Milton Wallace.
