EVB bank branches throughout the region will support a "Pack the Bus" school supply drive Saturday at the Walmart Supercenter in Gloucester to support the Gloucester Salvation Army office.
Anita Ottarson, branch manager of the EVB office at Gloucester Point, said EVB, in conjunction with the Salvation Army, hopes that local residents will bring school supplies to a bus, being donated by Gloucester County Public Schools, which will be parked to receive donations of school supplies for needy children. The collection is planned from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday.
This is the second year that EVB has launched a school supply drive to support the Salvation Army, Ottarson said. She said last year the effort received good response and she hopes that more people will drop off school supplies on Saturday.
The Salvation Army screens needy clients to receive the school supplies, Ottarson said, and any supplies that have not been distributed will be split among local schools.
