Lauren Ashley Saulman has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at James Madison University. The recognition requires a 3.5 or higher grade point average. Saulman was also recently accepted into the JMU nursing program. She is the daughter of Harry and Cindy Saulman of Gloucester.

Kristy Latimer has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Virginia Commonwealth University where she is a freshman majoring in biology. The recognition requires a 3.5 or higher grade point average. Latimer was also recently awarded a full three-year Army ROTC college scholarship worth approximately $50,000. She is the daughter of Stacy and Art Latimer of Mathews.

Emily Wingfield of Gloucester, has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Bluefield College. The recognition requires a 3.5 or higher grade point average.

Amanda Duhon has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Macalester College in Minnesota. The recognition requires a 3.75 or higher grade point average. Duhon is the daughter of David Duhon and Cindy Gebhard of Bohannon.

Sarah Schmitz of Gloucester, has been named to the fall semester president’s list at James Madison University. The recognition requires a 3.9 or higher grade point average.

Lauren Hurst has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at James Madison University where she is a junior majoring in biology. The recognition requires a 3.5 or higher grade point average. Hurst is the daughter of Andy and Heidi Hurst of Mathews.

Several other local students have been named to the fall semester dean’s list at James Madison University. They include Staci Altizer and Brittany Graveline of Gloucester, Alexis Raines of Gloucester Point, Brenden Rivenbark of Hudgins, Leah Bloomfield of James Store, Madalyn Mitchem of Mathews, and Laura Bridges of North. The recognition requires a 3.5 or higher grade point average.

Charles Harrison Hecht and Frank Robert Rose have been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Hampden-Sydney College where they are juniors. The recognition requires a 3.3 or higher grade point average. Hecht is the son of Vicki Hecht of Gloucester, and James Hecht of Williamsburg and Rose is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Vincent Rose of Gloucester.

Kayley Fullerton has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Marymount Manhattan College in New York where she is a junior majoring in art history and studio art. Fullerton had a 4.0 grade point average for the semester and has been invited to join the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society. She is the daughter of Jere and Denise Fullerton of Gloucester.

Lesley Rae Hunley of Mathews, received her master’s degree in educational leadership, with a concentration in K-12 administration, from the College of William and Mary School of Education on Jan. 14. During her graduate studies, she attained a 4.0 grade point average and was a member of Kappa Delta Pi international honor society in education. She was also awarded the Mary L. Murphy Scholarship Award and the Edward E. Brickell School Leadership Partner Award. Hunley is a 2006 graduate of the College of William and Mary with bachelor’s degrees in elementary education and kinesiology and a 2003 graduate of Mathews High School. She is employed by Mathews County Public Schools as coordinator of gifted education. Hunley is the daughter of Ray and Marianne Hunley, also of Mathews.
