Dennisa Booth of Hayes has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C., where she is a sophomore majoring in marine science. The recognition requires a 3.5 or higher grade point average.

Seth D. Ballard and Jessica L. Northcott, both of Hayes, were among the 250 Virginia Military Institute cadets who marched in the Jan. 11 inauguration parade for Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe in Richmond. 
All cadets holding rank in the VMI Corps of Cadets returned early from Christmas furlough on Jan. 9 to prepare for marching in the parade. Ballard is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David A. Ballard; Northcott is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don J. Northcott. 
 
Leah Procopi of Gloucester, a 2013 graduate of Gloucester High School, has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at the University of Virginia where she is a student in the engineering school. The recognition requires a 3.5 or higher grade point average.
