Cody Davis, a senior at Gloucester High School, won an oratorical contest hosted by American Legion Post 75, Gloucester. His talk, “The Bill of Rights,” earned him a $100 scholarship, making him eligible to compete in the Legion’s District Three Competition in January.

Oratorical chairman William Kossler said the American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program has encouraged the nation’s high school students to study the U.S. Constitution and hone their public speaking skills since 1938. Scholarships in excess of $20,000 are awarded annually by the American Legion.
