Photo: Page Middle School student Steven Stilianos watched the progress of a marble while teammate Alley Brown timed its progress during the culmination of a recent STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) challenge project. Twenty-seven students from the eighth grade science classes led by Ruth Manifold and Craig Doolittle participated in the challenge to build a fast roller coaster. Loops, spirals, funnels and unusual features earned extra points, as did increased energy gained by height. Stilianos and Brown designed and built their entry, Moonseeker 79, with the help of teammate Jeffrey Cho, not pictured. Photo by Kim Robins
