VEA awards $200,000 grant to Virginia Public Radio
The Virginia Education Association announced it has awarded a $200,000 grant to support the Virginia Public Radio news project for 2011 and 2012. Virginia Public Radio is a news and information service producing daily news reports of statewide interest for public radio stations in the commonwealth.
With the VEA support, Virginia Public Radio will expand the scope and volume of its news content while increasing the number of participating radio stations. Current participating public radio stations include WHRV which serves Norfolk, Virginia Beach and the Hampton Roads area, and three other stations.
