Two GHS students qualify for Auto Skills Challenge
Automotive technology students T.J. Priddy and Robert Cain will represent Gloucester High School in the 2013 Ford/AAA Auto Skills Challenge scheduled for May 4 in Virginia Beach.
The two GHS seniors, along with 48 other GHS automotive students, attempted to qualify for the Skills Challenge by taking a written online exam on Feb. 7. Priddy and Cain qualified, and will be one of 10 two-student teams to compete at the next level.
During the Skills Challenge, the students will be asked to diagnose and fix uniformly "bugged" new Ford vehicles as quickly as possible while ensuring quality workmanship. The winning team from each state will receive scholarships and other awards along with an expense-paid trip to the national finals at the Ford Motor Company headquarters in Dearborn, Mich.
