Twisted Botz place first in regional competition
The Twisted Botz, a local home school robotics team, took first place with a 6-0-0 record in the Liberty VEX Regional Robotics Competition held March 3 in Lynchburg.
The win qualified the team for competition in the 2012 VEX Robotics High School World Championship scheduled for April 19-21 in Anaheim, Calif. The team also received the Design Award at the Liberty event.
After moving to first place in the qualifying rounds of the regional competition, the Twisted Botz selected another home school team, the Robo Designers of Daleville, to join its alliance. The home school alliance went on to beat the number nine, five and two alliances to take the championship. Twenty-eight teams participated in the event.
