THMS competes for Clorox grant

Thomas Hunter Middle School has been nominated for a grant through the Clorox "Power a Bright Future" program. Clorox will be awarding one $50,000 grant and three $20,000 grants from among the applicants, with the public voting online to choose the winners.

Thomas Hunter Middle School has been used for a shelter on numerous occasions for many years and has a need for air conditioning in the gymnasium.

"We have children who suffer from asthma and need to stay inside to exercise at times," said the school’s financial clerk, Tiffanie Wheeler. "Many of us could end up occupying the gymnasium for extended periods of time for shelter and it would be beneficial to all if it was air conditioned, especially if we experience another blistering summer."
