Allison W. Scribe, a senior at Mathews High School, and Allison B. Scheidegger, a 17-year-old home-schooled student in Gloucester, have been named semifinalists in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Scribe is the daughter of Jason and Liz Scribe of Hallieford, and Scheidegger is the daughter of Alan and Deborah Scheidegger of Gloucester.
High school juniors enter the NMSP by taking the 2011 Preliminary SAT/NMSQT and the semifinalists represent the highest scoring entrants in each state. Of 16,000 semifinalists, 15,000 are expected to advance to the finalist level in February.
