School division looking for volunteer help

Mathews County Public Schools has a special need for volunteers in three specific areas, according to school board member Ginger Richards.

The division, she said, is seeking help in its computer technology and maintenance departments, and volunteers to help staff the Thrifty Spot store.

"They’re really cut short due to our lack of funds," Richards said of the need for help in the two school departments. The Thrifty Spot, which provides real-world job training to the division’s special needs students, can also use volunteers during its operation hours of 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

A volunteer form is available online at the school’s website, www.mathews.k12.va.us. It can be found in the "Quick Links" section under "Employment Opportunities." For more information, call the school board office at 725-3909.
