Taylor Byrns of Mathews, was named to the fall semester dean’s list at Christopher Newport University. The recognition requires a 3.5 or higher grade point average.

Samantha Good of Gloucester, and Hannah Joyce of Hayes, were each named to the fall semester dean’s list at Chowan University in Murfreesboro, N.C. The recognition requires a 3.25 or higher grade point average. Good is a senior at Chowan majoring in history and Joyce is a freshman studying biology.

Rachel Healy and Brittany Graveline, both of Gloucester, graduated from James Madison University during commencement exercises Dec. 15. Healy received a bachelor of science degree in communication studies and was named to the fall semester dean’s list. Graveline received a master of arts degree in special education.

The following local students were named to the fall semester dean’s list at James Madison University: Staci Altizer of Gloucester, a senior majoring in English; Alana Marsh of Gloucester, a senior majoring in music; Jennifer Roberts of Grimstead, a senior majoring in biology; Lauren Saulman of Gloucester, a senior majoring in nursing; Malorie Stone of Gloucester Point, a sophomore majoring in media arts and design, and Ellen Stringer of Gloucester, a sophomore majoring in English. The recognition requires a 3.5 or higher grade point average.

Emily Ortiz of Dutton, and Reeve Bergesen of Gloucester, were each named to the fall semester dean’s list at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. The recognition requires a 3.4 or higher grade point average.

Julia Thompson was named to the fall semester dean’s honor list at Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio, where she is a junior majoring in mechanical engineering and pre-medicine. The recognition requires a 3.75 or higher grade point average. Thompson is the daughter of Jon and Brenda Thompson of Gloucester.

David Tillage of Hayes, Laura Bridges of North, and Morgan Sadler of Gloucester, were each named to the fall semester president’s list at James Madison University. The recognition requires a 3.9 or higher grade point average. Tillage is a senior majoring in finance, Bridges is a senior majoring in music, and Sadler is a junior majoring in nursing.

The following local students were named to the fall semester dean’s list at the College of William and Mary: Ashleigh Ramos, Jessica Edington and Richard Baldwin, all of Gloucester; Crystal MacWelch of Mathews, and Shannon Butler of Susan. The recognition requires a 3.6 or higher grade point average.
