Sarah Frye graduated cum laude and received a bachelor of science degree in athletic training from George Mason University during commencement ceremonies May 19. Frye will pursue a master’s degree in health, exercise and sports medicine at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C. while working as an athletic trainer at The College of Charleston. She is the daughter of Brad and April Frye of Gloucester.

Matthew Williams Soles was named to the spring semester dean’s list at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington where he is majoring in political science and communication studies. The recognition requires a 3.4 or higher grade point average. Soles is vice president of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, a senator with the Student Government Association and has been selected for the University Community Relations Taskforce. He is also a member of Global Medical Brigades through which he participated in a medical mission trip to Honduras in January. Soles is the son of Bruce and Martha Soles of Ware Neck.

Summer Knight of Charlottesville received a master’s degree in community and addictions counseling from the College of William and Mary during recent commencement exercises. A 2006 graduate of Mathews High School, Knight also holds a bachelor’s degree in human services and psychology from Old Dominion University. She is the daughter of Bridget Hammond and the granddaughter of Michael R. Hammond, both of Mathews.
