Farley Gray Marshall of Gloucester graduated summa cum laude and received a bachelor of science degree from Longwood University during commencement ceremonies May 12. Marshall was also named to the spring semester president’s list at Longwood with a 4.0 grade point average.

Linda Featherston Bullock of Cobbs Creek received a master of science degree from Longwood University during commencement ceremonies May 12.

Evan Andrew Goetz of Gloucester graduated magna cum laude and received a bachelor of arts degree from Longwood University during commencement ceremonies May 12.

Kristen Leigh Rawls of Gloucester received a bachelor of fine arts degree from Longwood University during commencement ceremonies May 12. Rawls was also named to the spring semester dean’s list at Longwood, a recognition that requires a 3.5 or higher grade point average.

The following students were named to the spring semester dean’s list at Christopher Newport University: biology majors Shannon DeWees and Christian Belvin of Hayes, political science major Davis Mugford of Hayes, organismal biology major Stephanie Cole of Gloucester, psychology majors Kyle Leonard and Caroline Parker of Gloucester, Taylor Byrd of Gloucester, fine arts major Nicholas Dease of Mathews and Jennifer Wroten of Gwynn. The recognition requires a 3.5 or higher grade point average.

Ryan Speray is one of three Bridgewater College seniors selected as recipients of the John W. and Lurene M. Durna Endowed Scholarships. The one-year, $4,500 scholarships are awarded to seniors who "achieved superior academic standards and good campus citizenship" and intend to pursue a career in law. Speray was also named to the spring semester dean’s list at Bridgewater where he is majoring in history and political science. The BC dean’s list requires a 3.4 or higher grade point average. Speray is the son of Melissa and Alan Harris of Gloucester.

Coleman Tillage was named to the spring semester president’s list at James Madison University where he is a rising senior majoring in business finance. The recognition requires a 3.9 or higher grade point average. Tillage is the son of David and Holly Tillage of Hayes.

Tyler Tillage was named to the spring semester dean’s list at the University of Richmond where he is a rising senior majoring in music and Spanish. The recognition requires a 3.6 or higher grade point average. Tillage is the son of David and Holly Tillage of Hayes.

Zachary Raymond Hudgins graduated magna cum laude and received a bachelor of arts degree in history and a bachelor of science degree in interdisciplinary studies from Old Dominion University during commencement ceremonies May 4. Hudgins is a graduate of Mathews High School and the son of Mark and Mary Hudgins of Onemo.

Sheana Stroud was named youth of the month for May at the Mathews Boys & Girls Club. She was selected by the staff because of her willingness to help around the club, attendance after school, and grades at school. She is active in programs such as Torch Club, Immersion, Arts & Crafts and Junior Staff.
