Susan Rachel Dunaway, a freshman at Rappahannock Community College, is one of 56 students from across the state who have received scholarships from the Virginia State Police Association. Dunaway and the other 55 recipients shared $30,000 in scholarship funds, based on academic record, financial need and the applicant’s personal character. To qualify, the student must be a dependent member of the Virginia State Police Association. In addition, Dunaway has been awarded scholarships from Clarksbury United Methodist Church, RCCEFI County scholarship/Middlesex, and the Norman A. Bowen Memorial Fund. She is the daughter of Michael E. Dunaway of Wake, and Letrecia (T.C.) Moore of Deltaville.

Joe Ailstock, Susan Spencer, Bernadene Stammer, Annette Taylor, Kristina Wagner, and John West of Gloucester; Lani Ashberry, Hannah Ewell, Marie Frost, Aeryonia Lucky, Steve Morley, Jeremy Schultz, and Richard Spriggs of Mathews, were recognized for joining Rappahannock Community College’s (RCC) Student Support Services (SSS) "A" Club for the excellent grades they earned for RCC’s Spring and Summer 2010 semesters. These luncheons, held at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters, singled out SSS participants who were enrolled in at least two classes during the preceding semester(s), and earned an A or an S (satisfactory) in each class.
