Allie Donaldson, a sixth grader at Thomas Hunter Middle School, received the Above and Beyond Award earlier this month from the Kiwanis Club of Middlesex and Chesapeake Bank.

Jason D. Shields recently received a master’s degree in organic chemistry from Princeton University. Shields will continue his Princeton studies toward a doctoral degree. He is the son of Jeffrey and Julie Shields of Hayes, and the grandson of Rosalind HaLevi of Gloucester Point.

David P. Shields was named to the fall semester dean’s list at Virginia Tech where he is a freshman majoring in biology and classics with a minor in Latin. The dean’s list recognition requires a 3.4 or higher grade point average. Shields has been invited to participate in a freshman research project in Latin poetry during the spring semester, and to join Phi Sigma National Biological Sciences Honor Society. He is the son of Jeffrey and Julie Shields of Hayes, and the grandson of Rosalind HaLevi of Gloucester Point.
