The Mathews High School Scholastic Bowl team kicked off its 2012-2013 season Tuesday with a 235-140 win over King William. Mathews, the defending Region A champions, had placed fifth in this past year’s VHSL state tournament. The team, coached by John Corrigan, includes, front row from left, Scooter Ransone, Julia White, Megan Zuhowski; back row, Caleb Selph, Chelsea Jones, Allison Scribe, Elizabeth Ransone, Katherine Ransone, Glenn Musgrove and Clay Moughon.
