"Conversations in Art," a new course sponsored by the Rappahannock Community College Educational Foundation’s Rappahannock Institute for Lifelong Learning (RILL), is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. on the following Fridays—March 8, 15 and 22—at Rappahannock Community College’s Glenns campus with instructor Margaret Hancock.

This course offers an opportunity for participants to gain greater understanding and appreciation of the visual arts through slide presentations, dialogue, looking exercises and other resources, said an RCC spokesperson. Students will learn to walk into any museum or gallery and recognize the how and what behind the artwork they see.

Among the elements covered will be art history, culture, elements and principles of design, and artists’ methods and materials.
