No drugs found during sweep of GHS
A canine search for narcotics at two Gloucester Public Schools on April 14 failed to find any drugs, according to Gloucester Sheriff Darrell Warren.
Canine handlers with the Virginia Department of Corrections led the sweep, assisted by officers with the Tri-Rivers Drug Task Force and Warren’s office. The sheriff said the dogs searched around vehicles in the Gloucester High School student parking lot and lockers and classrooms at Page Middle School.
No drugs were found, Warren said, but one GHS student had to open a vehicle for a closer inspection of some beer cans, which turned out to be empty.
