The Mathews High School Key Club raised $1,100 during a spaghetti dinner held on Feb. 6 at Sandpiper Reef Restaurant, Hallieford. The fundraiser was held to benefit the Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Community Services Board Prevention Services Division, with the check presented to the organization’s director, Cheryl Matteo-Kerney, center. Handing her the check are, from left, Key Club member Anna Hudgins, president Allison Scribe, vice president Angela Linsinbigler and historian Elizabeth Sanderson. The students held the fundraiser in memory of a classmate who committed suicide last year; the money will go toward suicide prevention programs. Photo by Charlie Koenig
