Gloucester schools experience water problems
Water leaks in the past two weeks have caused problems at two Gloucester middle schools. At Page Middle School, a facility consisting of modular units clustered together, a leak was discovered after a child pushed a chair through a wall, according to school division assistant superintendent John Hutchinson.
Hutchinson said that leak was traced to a loose piece of roof flashing where two units were tied together. He said after repairs were made, the wet area was dried out and treated with a mildew preventative. Another wet area discovered in the facility was traced to condensation from an air conditioning unit and was also remedied. Hutchinson said there was no mold involved with either of the wet areas.
